Los Brezos 2023 comes from the La Hoya de la Viña vineyard in Tenerife's Valle de Güímar. It is produced from 85% Listán Negro and 15% Listán Blanco grown on 25 to 30-year-old own-rooted vines trained using the traditional Double Guyot (Royat cordon) system on volcanic sandy and lapilli soils.
The grapes are carefully hand-harvested before being traditionally foot-trodden in an open fermentation tank. After fermentation, the wine matures in a used French oak barrel, preserving freshness while adding subtle texture and complexity.
The wine displays a pale cherry-red colour with aromas of minerals, flint, fig tree and fresh red berries. The palate is vibrant, elegant, mineral and remarkably fresh, expressing the volcanic character of the vineyard. Production is limited to only 600 numbered bottles.
