Ruku Ruku Tinto is born from the personal project of Jessica Martín and Tomás
Mesa, a couple united by their passion for wine, food and the preservation of
Tenerife's agricultural traditions. Their vineyard, located in the Los Gómez
estate in La Orotava, is farmed organically using the Cordón Trenzado
vine-training system — a technique unique in the world, developed to protect
the vines from the trade winds of northern Tenerife.
Made from old-vine fruit, 95% Listán Negro and 5% Listán Blanco, with
spontaneous fermentation using native yeasts and 6 months ageing in 500-litre
barrels with low extraction. The result is a varietal, honest and expressive wine.
On the nose: fig leaf, wild berries and forest undergrowth. On the palate:
fresh, smooth and long-lasting, with a volcanic minerality that faithfully
reflects the terroir of northern Tenerife.
